As per the requirements identified in the National Boreal Standard (August 2004), the applicant is required to:

  • Characterize the pre-industrial forest condition and have this analysis available for public review (indicators 6.1.5 and 6.1.6)
  • Complete or make use of a peer-reviewed scientific gap analysis (indicator 6.4.1)
  • Assess the presence and attributes consistent with High Conservation Values Forest, ensure that a credible outside review is undertaken and make the report and review available to the public (Indicators 9.1 and 9.3)
  • Make readily available monitoring plans to the public (8.1.4)
  • Provide a summary of the results of monitoring activities is regularly compiled (8.5.1)
