HE CORPORATIONTimiskaming Forest Alliance Inc. (TFAI) is a cooperative of forest industries, ranging from small independent logging operators to large forest products producers. On behalf of these partners ("the Shareholders"), TFAI is responsible for the sustainable forest management of the Timiskaming Forest. Responsibilities include forest management planning, forest renewal and maintenance, forest resource inventory collection and maintenance, as well as operational compliance monitoring and reporting. The Shareholder Agreement which governs the business and operational interests of the Company, is considered a model arrangement for cooperative forest management companies across the Province.
The Timiskaming Forest is a 9,000 square kilometer defined land base that is situated in northeastern Ontario, extending westward from the Ontario/Quebec border for 116 kilometers, and northward from Lake Timiskaming to Lake Abitibi.
