The following links are provided for your convenience to help you quickly find more information about forestry operations and organizations in Ontario.  All of these organizations have extensive link pages of their own, from which you can access an extremely large network of forestry related sites.  The following links, therefore, are meant only as a starting point, and the list here has been intentionally kept short to avoid unnecessary duplication of effort. 

The Ontario Forest Industries Association (OFIA) is a provincial trade association representing companies engaged in forest management in Ontario, as well as those that manufacture pulp, paper, paperboard, lumber, panelboard, plywood and veneer. The OFIA provides a forum for member companies to discuss issues of common interest and concern.  Through various venues, it also serves to provide a unified voice to the provincial government and others.
Ontario Lumber Manufacturers' Association (OLMA)

The OLMA is an industrial trade association representing the interests of the province's independently-operated, non-integrated sawmills in quality of production, public forest policy and in international trade. The OLMA promotes the use of and ensures market access for Ontario lumber products within North America.

Ontario Forestry Association

The Ontario Forestry Association is a non-profit, registered charity dedicated to raising awareness and understanding of all aspects of Ontario's forests, and to developing commitment to stewardship of forest ecosystems through public education. Ontario Professional Foresters Association

The OPFA is committed to actively contributing to the sustainability of Ontario's forests by assuring the highest professional standards of practice in forestry. The OPFA is responsible for the licensing of professional foresters in Ontario. It is a member-based, non-profit, non-political organization with more than 850 members. It is the organization that represents professional foresters in Ontario.

Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) is the voice of forest products companies across Canada.  FPAC, formerly the Canadian Pulp and Paper Association, works on common industry issues and programs to increase knowledge and raise the standards by which Forest Products are produced.

Canadian Lumbermen's Association
The CLA strives to promote the interests and conserve the rights of those engaged in lumbering operations, or in the manufacture, sale or distribution of lumber and other related products.
The CLA is divided into four bureaus primarily servicing the softwood and hardwood lumber manufacturing community.

Canadian Institute of Forestry - Central Ontario Section

The Canadian Institue of Forestry's mission is to advance the stewardship of Canada's forest resources, provide national leadership in forestry, promote competence among forestry professionals, and foster public awareness of Canadian and international forestry issues.  The CIF has been a national voice for forestry professionals since 1908.

The Central Ontario Section is one of 22 sections across Canada.  The Northeastern Ontario section's web page is still under development.

Wood WORKS!

Wood WORKS! is a national initiative, spearheaded by the Canadian Wood Council, to promote the increased use of wood in commercial, industrial and institutional construction. Showcasing the advantages of wood construction, the project backs up its Think Wood! message with technical assistance, education and design tools for design and construction professionals.
